Passion

Why are we Minmatar so notorious for not getting along? I know the Amarrians believe we are children that need parents, but they honestly feel that about every race, even themselves. So they create a God, a supreme parent. This solution does not sit well with us Matari. The Gallente believe in the lottery of the majority, if you are not in the majority, oh well. This also does not sit well with us. The Caldari believe in profit and rigid corporate structures meant to outlive them all. For what purpose?

We do not get along always, no. Was this the reason the Empire enslaved us? No. It didn't help, but the Empire we were facing when we met them was larger than our own universe. Still, we could not be subdued. We tried the Gallente model, and that didn't really work for us. Now, the harder Shakor tries to unite us, the more fragmented we become. Beset by slavers, pirates, and profiteers, our militia hunted on their home ground, our allies losing the war and we...bicker.

We fight with each other, disagree and argue over the stupidest little things. Even those of us that agree. Five Matari in a room, in perfect agreement, will still find a way to fight about something. And there will not be two sides, there will be five. Two Matari that love each other and want all of the same things, will still find a way to fight. About anything. About nothing.

Is this a weakness? It is perceived to be, even by Minmatar. I think it is a sign of passion. A fire in the blood. We care, passionately, and passion can be hard to reign in. Thats why other races try to suppress it or indulge it. Only we let it rule us. We let it fragment us. We let it divide us. A fist is stronger than five fingers, yes, but otherwise useless. Five fingers are much more useful. And they can still make a fist. So the question is, how do we remain fingers, and still find the passion to come together and make a fist?

Can we even still make a fist? Can we still come together?
